Each book in this series begins with the same short definition of homophones, then highlights featured homophones in simple sentences ("Mom likes to mince onions"; "These mints are striped") paired with obviously staged photos. While the books are instructive, there are sloppy inclusions ("merry" and "marry" arent pure homophones), the selections are random, and the prose is dull. There are fourteen other spring 2002 books in this series. Glos. [Review covers these Write On! Homophones titles: "Do We By, Buy, or Bye Tickets?, My Deer is a Dear, They're There in Their Boat, Two Kids Got to Go, Too". ]
