Kids learn about the culture of India through recipes and crafts

Grades 4-7 In the World Crafts and Recipes series, recipes and art projects introduce readers to a variety of countries rich cultures. Colorful photos show both the original inspirations for the activities as well as examples of childrens projects and culinary creations. An introductory section outlines the countrys history, and sections of text throughout the books provide additional context. In Recipe and Craft Guide to India, the inspiration for many of the recipes and crafts come from the countrys diverse cultural traditions. The back matter includes a number of further reading suggestions, a glossary featuring both culturally specific and general vocabulary words (although these words are not specially marked in the text itself), and an index.
